“Our Student Our Future”

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations better known  as ASEAN is a geo-political and economic organization of ten countries located in Southeast Asia, which was formed on eighth of August 1967 by Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar and Cambodia. The ASEAN COMMUNITY is a place where all ten countries come together to build a better life for everyone together as ten, we are stronger and can do more than one country alone, but to get there, we have to know, the programme is also aimed at three fundamental principles, which take us to the ASEAN COMMUNITY :

Firstly is PEACE; we need all ten countries to work together to keep the region safe. We won’t let terrorists, pirates and drugs come to ruin our countries. ASEAN countries don’t fight one another and we all live in peace.

Secondly is PROSPERITY; we can enjoy the good things that come with stronger economic development. As we attract more investors, business will grow and there will be more jobs and opportunities. And one day, we may be able to work in any ASEAN country of our choice, whether we are an engineer, a business woman or a nurse. Outside the cities, agriculture will also become more advanced. Our farmer will get benefit and so will we. Our quality of life will improve, we will have better road and transport systems, access to high tech innovation and be connected to the world, and as good neighbours, we will also help one another prosperity.

But peace and prosperity are not the only part of the ASEAN COMMUNITY, do you know what is the most important part?

PEOPLE!! Absolutely, ASEAN government work hard to ensure the people can enjoy a better life. And can you guess how ASEAN countries do that? By keeping environment clean and green, helping one another when disasters strike, working together to fight nasty disease, finding ways for our people to learn about one another, and to learn from each other and finding ways to keep our families strong.

Then, Students have an important role to play in the establishment of the ASEAN Community 2015.
In the current era of globalization, a superior generation is not longer an option but it has become a necessity for the nation.

Youth have a major contribution to the establishment of the ASEAN Community 2015. Begin to create a good image of Indonesia to them. Begin working with them to make friends for the sake of ASEAN and the global community.

Related to the conditions in Indonesia, there are some main challenges that must be faced by Indonesia to realize the community. The challenge is preparation is not structured properly, the lack of socialization of the ASEAN community and the necessity of ASEAN community in the curriculum ranging from elementary schools to build awareness of ASEAN.

So, the youth have to change the mindset of the consumer to be productive, as well as preparing for college graduates who are ready to compete at least at the level of ASEAN. It deals with the internationalization of study programs, curriculum, faculty and student exchange programs.

"Our Students, Our Future", aims to enhance student awareness of the necessity to live as good neighbours and foster worth cooperation among countries that are bound by linkages of history and culture.

Well-guided education can also shape an individual's character and identity, something that is essential for both economic growth and a healthy society.

The programme is also an opportunity for ASEAN schools to network, thereby enhancing togetherness, while fostering a spirit of equality and mutual understanding, and building a common identity among the bloc's youth.

This should be realized by the younger generation who actually has a chance of very large compared with the previous generation.

Don’t talk, just act. Don’t say, just show. And don’t promise just prove, because no one is too young to be part of ASEAN COMMUNITY, because we can start with simple things, such as : make friends with young people from other ASEAN countries and learn another ASEAN languages if we can, find out more about the region’s history, most of all be proud of our identity as an ASEAN citizen and look forward to what the future holds.

Think positive and positive things will happen. So nothing is impossible, because we can if we think we can.
I think enough, more or less apologize me from all mistakes. Thank you

Wassalam ‘alaikum warohmatullahi wabarokatuh
